I’ve said in the past that a gentleman takes the time to be philanthropic. Today I was presented with such an opportunity. I received the following email

Dear AG,

[I was wondering if] you could potentially mention this fundraiser my friend is participating in for blood cancer research on your blog/twitter. 

She is a part of a team attempting to raise money to be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during the San Francisco half marathon in October.  Although she is working extremely hard, she is still struggling to meet her goal.  The exposure from you could be of great benefit to her.  I’ve noticed that you had mentioned similar things a few times on your blog in the past and was hoping you could possibly help her out with a mention as well.  If this isn’t feasible I understand and sincerely appreciate your consideration.
