Anonymous asked: What kind of advice would you give a student going into college next year to help him overcome his fear and plague of shyness. I find that I am my true self in front of people I have grown to know and am comfortable with, however, i'll be attending a school far from home next year where I will know no one. Thank you.
You learn the most about yourself and what you can do when you step outside of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself to face and overcome your fear, then do it. Get involved on campus, go Greek, cultivate new friendships, talk to strangers (even if to just smile and say hello). Most importantly, there is nothing to fear by putting yourself out there. Conquering your fears will make you a better man.
